Chaudhary Ajit Singh (12 February 1939 – 6 May 2021)[2] was a prominent Indian politician and a notable leader of the Jat community. He was the founder and chief of the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), a political party with recognition in the western part of the state of Uttar Pradesh. He was also the son of the former Prime Minister of India, the late Chaudhary Charan Singh.[3][4]
Chaudhary Ajit Singh (12 February 1939 – 6 May 2021) was an Indian politician. He was a big Jat community leader. He was the founder and chief of the Rashtriya Lok Dal, a political party recognized in western part of state of Uttar Pradesh, and son of former Prime Minister of India late Chaudhary Charan Singh. He had tested positive for COVID-19 on 22 April 2021 and was admitted in a Gurugram hospital.[5] He died on 6 May 2021 after his condition deteriorated.

Personal Life[edit | edit source]
Chaudhary Ajit Singh was married to Radhika Singh and was the proud father of one son and two daughters. His son, Jayant Chaudhary, followed in his father's footsteps and became a member of the 15th Lok Sabha from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.
Death[edit | edit source]
In April 2021, Ajit Singh tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to a private hospital in Gurugram. Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated, and he passed away on 6 May 2021 due to complications arising from the virus. At the time of his death, he was 82 years old.
